The Fox and the Grapes
One hot summer's day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. "Just the thing to quench my thirst," quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: "I am sure they are sour."
(One hot summer's day a Fox was strolling through an orchard),看到一串熟透的葡萄沿著藤蔓高挂在上 (till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch.)。 他这麼说著 ("Just the thing to quench my thirst," quoth he)。 (Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump),可惜没构到那串葡萄 (and just missed the bunch),往后再退了几步,一、二、三,往上一跳 (Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up),还是没有构到那串葡萄 (but with no greater success.)。 (Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel),可最后还是放弃了(but at last had to give it up),最后离开,鼻子嗅了嗅说 (and walked away with his nose in the air, saying):「葡萄太酸了 ("I am sure they are sour.")。」
The moral is that:It is easy to despise what you cannot get.

A man bought a Donkey at the market one day and took him home on roval.
Now the man owned several Donkeys already and he knew each one's character very well.
One of the Donkey was very strong and bre. Another was eager to please but quickly exhausted.
有头驴又强壮、又勇敢;还有头驴急于讨人喜欢,可一会儿就累了;
One Donkey was very lazy. He hated going to work in the morning and he did as little as he possibly could all day long.
When the other animals were being loaded up he always tried to be the last so that he would get the lightest load.
The man led the new Donkey into the stable yard. For a moment he stood
sniffing at his new companions. Then, without hesitation, he trotted up
to the lazy Donkey and began feeding comfortably at his side.
Though it was late in the day, the man immediately led the new Donkey out of the yard, straight back to the market.
"You cannot he given him a fair trial yet, "said the merchant. "It is only ten minutes since you bought him."
"I don't need to try him any more," replied the man. "I know just what he is like from the friend he chose for himself.
Take him away and give me my money back. I can do without Donkeys like him."

A Sioux Indian story ...
My grandfather took me to the fish pond on the farm when I was about seven, and he told me to throw a stone into the water. He told me to watch the circles created by the stone. Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone.
"You may create lots of splashes in your life, but the wes that come from those splashes will disturb the peace of all your fellow creatures," he said.
"Remember that you are responsible for what you put in your circle and that circle will also touch many other circles."
"You will need to live in a way that allows the good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send those feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both."
That was the first time I realized that each person creates the inner peace or discord that flows out into the world. We cannot create world peace if we are riddled with inner conflict, hatred, dou, or anger.
We radiate the feelings and thoughts that we hold inside, whether we speak them or not. Whatever is splashing around inside of us is spilling out into the world, creating beauty or discord with all other circles of life.

God's Coffee A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into plaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leing behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups. Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we he does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups.......... Enjoy your coffee! The Dog And The Shadow
A DOG, crossing a bridge over a stream with a piece of flesh in his mouth, saw his own shadow in the water, and took it for that of another Dog, with a piece of meat double his own in size. He thus lost both: that which he grasped at in the water, because it was a shadow; and his own, because the stream swept it away.

Just at that time, a hunter nearby was throwing out his net towards the dove, hoping to trap it.
Guessing what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net. The dove was quick to fly away to safety.
MORAL: One good turn deserves another.
2.A Simple Gesture
Mark was walking home from school one day when he noticed the boy ahead of him had tripped and dropped all of the books he was carrying, along with two sweaters, a baseball bat, a glove and a small tape recorder. Mark knelt down and helped the boy pick up the scattered articles. Since they were going the same way, he helped to carry part of the burden. As they walked Mark discovered the boy's name was Bill, that he loved video games, baseball and history, and that he was hing lots of trouble with his other subjects and that he had just broken up with his girlfriend. They arrived at Bill's home first and Mark was invited in for a Coke and to watch some television. The afternoon passed pleasantly with a few laughs and some shared small talk, then Mark went home. They continued to see each other around school, had lunch together once or twice, then both graduated from junior high school. They ended up in the same high school where they had brief contacts over the years. Finally the long awaited senior year came and three weeks before graduation, Bill asked Mark if they could talk.
Bill reminded him of the day years ago when they had first met. "Did you ever wonder why I was carrying so many things home that day?" asked Bill. "You see, I cleaned out my locker because I didn't want to lee a mess for anyone else. I had stored away some of my mothers sleeping pills and I was going home to commit . But after we spent some time together talking and laughing, I realized that if I had killed myself, I would he missed that time and so many others that might follow. So you see, Mark, when you picked up those books that day, you did a lot more, you sed my life."
